Around 80 Pakistani Cricketers Nominated for BBL and WBBL Drafts

Pakistan has nominated 80 male and female cricketers for the upcoming drafts of Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL) and Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL).

The drafts, scheduled for September 1, are set to feature 64 additional Pakistani cricketers for the BBL 2024/25 season where prominent national stars will participate

Prominent names such as Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Usama Mir, and Zaman Khan had already been confirmed earlier.

The latest list adds more notable players to the pool, including Fakhar Zaman, Naseem Shah, Shan Masood, Saim Ayub, Usman Qadir, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Umar Akmal, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Haider Ali, and Mohammad Hasnain.

On the women’s side, 11 Pakistani cricketers have been nominated for the WBBL draft. This includes key players like Fatima Sana, Nida Dar, Diana Baig, Aliya Riaz, Tuba Hassan, Nashra Sandhu, and Aroob Shah.

The BBL season is set to commence on December 15, with the Perth Scorchers taking on the Melbourne Stars at Perth Stadium. The final will take place on January 27, 2025.

Meanwhile, the WBBL will kick off on October 27 with the Adelaide Strikers facing Brisbane Heat at Adelaide Oval. The WBBL final is scheduled for December 1.

Both leagues promise thrilling cricket, with the defending champions, Brisbane Heat (BBL) and Adelaide Strikers (WBBL), eager to retain their titles.
